Casper the Experiment
Deep within the woods shrouded in fog, there lies a castle. With crumbling walls and vines choking its windows it seems more a hollow carcass than a livable dwelling. But do not be deceived…for it is very much alive. Within those dark hallways, winding down to a dripping cellar, something stirs. A creator and his creature, something made and not so much born. But he underestimated the power that he wielded. The experiment went wrong…the experiment was hungry. And it seems the experiment knew how to use it’s teeth from the very moment it’s clawed feet hit the wet brick flooring. And so the creator has served his penance for such an act against nature, by becoming the meal that will sustain this foul beast.
The experiment lifts its head, eyes shining in the lamplight. He senses someone near.
The Kudu watches from horseback, her cloak pulled tight and her eyes swimming over the broken body of the castle. She knows an abomination lays within but it is not her duty to play a hand in this one’s undoing. This creature is not born of the universe and yet she will let him remain.
“Come to me,” She whispers.
The voice echoes in his head and washes over his senses. He doesn’t know her, but she feels safe, she feels warm and so he will go to her.
He steps over the gore that is left of his creator and goes to this gentle being that calls him. He will follow her to the ends of the earth.
