It was a clear night. The kind of night where all of the stars were out to play, winking and sparkling in the endless inky blackness. The Kudu sat on the flat, cool rock, hooves clicking against the hard surface. She tilted her head backward, extending the length of her neck to better gaze at the spattering of glittering lights. What a display they all were. An art really. A piece painted by a master and yet to the world the artist behind it was a mystery. Not to her though, not to the Kudu. A steak of light whipped across the midnight, tail trailing a bright path behind it. As the Kudu watches the comet disappear into the night from which it came, there was a rustle behind her. She smiled.
“You’ve outdone yourself tonight,” She cooed.
The massive, hulking shadow of a creature sat on its’ haunches next to her.
“It might just be my best work yet,” It replied as it followed the Kudu’s gaze into the heavens.
It was not often that the beast from another world came to visit the Kudu here, on her small, strange little planet. But when they did, they always enjoyed the company and her compliments.
